About the Symposium

This symposium aims to provide the El Sistema-inspired movement a chance to think deeply together, and with interested friends, about the issues that matter most in organizational stability and long-term sustainability. With over 100 programs in operation around the United States, we will use a case example of an El Sistema program as it goes from start-up through multiple budget levels ($100,000, $250,000, $500,000, etc.) towards sustainability.

We have invited several experts around the country to help us think through the issues and opportunities each program deals with as we help some of the most vulnerable children in our communities. We will discuss how solid operational platforms, effective program designs, clear strategy, outcomes measurement capacity, and effective fundraising and fiscal systems can help propel our programs to deepen and widen our impact.

Play On, Philly! will welcome up to 30 guests to take an inside look at our program the day before the symposium and El Sistema USA invites you tostay the day after as we debrief the learning experiences from the symposium and strategize how we can support the field.
